Young Debs Inc
Performance Arts Outreach Program

This program introduces the performance and visual arts to all students in grades 3-12. The program starts in September/October and ends in June/July with a Broadway caliber production. During the program students will learn the elements of musical theatre, including dance, vocals, acting and stage design. Information regarding auditions will be available as the season approaches. Participating in this program requires dedication and discipline.  Our productions are major fundraisers for the programs. Ultimately, our goal is to promote cultural competency, self-confidence, and reinforce discipline and respect. Our students have performed The Nutcracker, The Wiz and The Lion King, which has been a favorite of our students and parents alike.  Our students have also performed at different venues within the Baltimore Metropolitan area. No prior experience is necessary.  We encourage students ages 8-18 who have a desire to perform or want to build confidence to participate.

Students are expected to wear dance attire (leotards, tights, sweat pants, leggings/yoga pants) or sports shorts (such as basketball shorts or soccer shorts); bare feet, dance socks or ballet/modern or jazz shoes. No street clothes, including but not limited to jeans, khakis, tennis shoes will be acceptable since they restrict movement and can damage the dancing floor.
